DARIPADA BLOG ISTERI SAYA

My belly is not showing as much as normal people would expect a seven-month plus pregnant lady should. However, I am not so worried. I am not gaining that much weight either. In fact, I think I’m losing weight due to the fasting month. The baby however, is not to be ignored. His movements or otherwise known as kicks are stronger than ever and can be seen with naked eyes on my belly.

Nevertheless, as a precaution, I am going to ask my doctor during the next check up (which is on the day after tomorrow) about the weight, and also the Group B Strep screening. The next day we are leaving for my hometown in the East Coast to celebrate Eid. It is a rare occasion that both of us get to take leave before and during the Eid first few days. I must say that this year has been a special year with both of us offered better positions in job with better hours and the coming of the long awaited child.

My preparation is still limited to the baby’s clothes and much still need to be bought. There is also that downstairs room to be cleaned up and prepared. There is also the hired help/maid to be taken care of. The leakage in the bathroom needs to be repaired and the lights for both the back room and garage need to be replaced. If I list it all I’d be stressed to pieces. However, it is actually better to at least have a list. This way I’d feel much more in control.

So many things have happened in the last few weeks, and yet I do not know how to write about them. A friend has lost her husband, a neighbour has had a miscarriage and I have booked the chosen hospital for the delivery. I’ll just have to compose about them some other time.

The blessed month of Ramadhan is ending in a few days. I must admit that I have not spent or invested much for its blessings. Considering that I am about to have a child, in other words, going to go through the worst pain of labour and the worries about giving birth to a healthy child, I should have prayed more. I regret that I did not.

At this moment I’m too busy thinking, packing and preparing for Eid. I may not have any readers yet but still, I would like to wish all a beautiful Eid. Have a safe journey home. Eid Mubarak to all Muslims of the world.

( Semoga kita juga diberkati Allah, bersama anak yang akan dilahirkan, insya Allah. )
